700 Years of Glass from Bodenmais
The Bavariab
Forest has always been a provider for glass
production.
Despite a raw climate, hard lives in the woodlands
and a volatile income,
the glass maker´s determination was rarely
daunted and continues on, to this day.
Consequently, the Bavarian Forest is now known
as Europe´s center of glass; and
it is here, where the
traditional skills of glass making have
been
carefully nurtured and therefore add to this unique
culture.
Joska Crystal is situated in the
climatic health resort of Bodenmais,
the heart
of the Bavarian Forest. The name Joska is an abbreviation
for Josef Kagerbauer,
a name connected to glass for generations. Already
in the 18th century the
Kagerbauer family owned a glasshut
in Bodenmais. Presently, Josef Kagerbauer Jr.
runs Joska Crystal. Joska Crystal combines the
Traditional Handcraft
of the Bavarian Forest with
Modern Design.
